We have competed three full days of touring in Jerusalem. Included in our visits have been the cherished Christians sites of the Mount of Olives, the Palm Sunday Road, The Garden of Gethsemane ,the Via Dolarosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulcure, The Upper Room, The Pool of Bethesda, and with St. Ann’s Church.
We also went to the Western Wall of the Temple Mount. The Garden of Gethsemane faces the eastern entrance into the Temple Mount, which is known as the Golden Gate. The Western Wall is the closest wall to the Holy of Holies of the Temple Mount. For generations, pilgrims to Jerusalem have come to this holy site and placed their prayers in the Wall.
The Western Wall is not an idol to worship, rather it is a place of Prayer. I took 269 prayers from the people of Christ Church to the Western Wall. It took me 30 minutes to pray over and insert each prayer into the Wall. It was all I had time to do as our group needed to leave.
As Judy and I walked away from the Wall, she reminded me what happened the last time people from Christ Church were at the Wall. In February of 2006, the people of Christ Church offered prayers for healing for me as I was undergoing cancer surgery. Here I was standing at the very place where people had prayed for me. The poignancy of that moment did not miss me. There is great healing power in Prayer.
I wish that all of the church could have the opportunity to be in this Holy City. It is in this hope that we will journey together, whether here or there, that I say, “Peace to you with the benediction of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Re: From the Holy Land - Day 7
I have been following your trip and wishing I was there for the wonderful journey. Thanks for the great updates. It's beautiful to know that 269 prayers were delivered and prayed over at the Western Wall. Have a great trip home.
