WHAT A WONDERFUL CHURCH WE SERVE

Every Sunday, Pastor Donaldson proclaims “God is good…..” and we reply “……all the time”. May I proclaim, with deep faith and humility, that God is good all the time and all the time God is good. We serve a great church which has been displayed by this fantastic body of Christ, this community of faith we call Christ Church United Methodist. I say this because of what I have seen and witnessed with my own eyes. Let me share that with you.

CHRISTIANITY & OCCUPY WALL STREET

We have seen a good deal of the protest which has moved across the country under the title of “Occupy Wall Street”. Images of “tax the rich”, “take from the have’s and give to the have not’s”, “down with capitalism”, “death to the wall street tyrants”. Words of death to America, kill the corporations, and other slanderous words, may cause one to ask, “What is a Christian to think of all this?” It is this question that I address.

PRAYERS AND RAIN DANCES

Yesterday I heard a person declare, “I am doing rain dances and saying a prayer to God every day……….God let it rain.” Now the person who made this declaration is not an odd ball or a kook, but rather an official of the county. I was part of a meeting in Judge Alan Saddler’s office in downtown Conroe, when an official whimsically declared his concern.
