Prison Ministry – Blessing Bags  “I was in prison and you came to visit me … I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”         Matthew 25:36, 40

Each year fifteen hundred bags are decorated, filled with toiletries and fresh fruit, then personally delivered by Christ Church disciples to the ‘Brothers in White’ at Hightower State Prison.  These Christmas ‘Blessing Bags’ are a simple but powerful expression of the love of Jesus Christ and have had a profound impact on both the bag recipients and the disciples delivering them.

There are two ways you can serve: Please prayerfully consider getting involved in this ministry. The bag you decorate or deliver may be just what God uses to transform a life!

Decorate Bags (All can participate) Check out a bundle of bags (20) at the Welcome Center. Decoration is a simple marker drawing of a cross and scripture reference – no artistic ability is required (a cross stencil and markers are provided); however, note that specific instructions must be followed to ensure consistency. Consider this activity for a group or your family. Bags can be checked out at the Welcome Center.

Deliver Bags December 8th, 2018 (Men 18 and older) Disciples will meet at the church early Saturday morning, drive to Hightower Prison, fill the bags, eat lunch, distribute the bags to the ‘Brothers in White’, and return to the church late afternoon.  You can participate by contacting Glenn Smith.
