You are invited to read through the books of Acts, Hosea, Joel and Amos this fall, at a rate of 1 chapter a day. We will start reading on Sept 4.

The book Acts is the fifth book of the New Testament and tells the story of the birth and life of the Church upon the ascension of Jesus into heaven (hence the name the Acts of the Apostles).

Hosea, Joel and Amos are called Minor Prophets and invite God’s people to return to the Lord. There is nothing minor about these prophets, as their message points to the fulfillment of God’s covenant promise through the person and work of Christ and the birth of His Church.

Sept 4—Oct 27  Download the checklist

28 chapters—Acts

14 chapters—Hosea

3 chapters—Joel

9 chapters—Amos

54 days; 1 chapter/day

As we read each day, post a word or phrase that captures the heart of the chapter read (note the example in the attached reading schedule). The platform for posting is the Facebook group I AM. Christ. Church. (created as a way of checking in and saying “I’ve read for the day”). Liking and commenting is optional. Please note: it is not necessary to participate in this way.

The goal is:

  • to be shaped by God’s Word,
  • to experience community by being in God’s Word together,
  • and to cultivate holy habits that nurture our relationship with Christ (individually and corporately)!
