Hello Students & Families,

I am sending out prayers of peace, comfort, and strength for everyone in our community. I know each family is deeply affected by the closing of schools, businesses, and our church activities. This week Christ Church staff have been brainstorming ways that we can still BE THE CHURCH – worship together, pray together, have community, serve one another, and still abide by the safety guidelines being suggested by our world leaders. This season will help us see that the church has always been more than a building. We are God’s people – we gather to Love God and Love Our Neighbors! Christ Church will continue to do this in innovative ways using the technology we have available.

Here are a few things I have ready to offer our ministry right now.

GroupMe:

This is the App that a lot of students already are using as a way to keep in contact with one another in a chatroom style. You can receive it as texts (I suggest downloading the app, it will get crazy with text messages). You can also silence the notifications if chat gets crazy, and check it only when you want to connect.

Zoom Conferencing:

  • Zoom is a FREE app that people can use to have video conferencing (like Facetime or Skype) with up to 100 participants. I have set up a test group to try out Bible Study this week.
    • I would like to invite your student to join Wednesday, 3/18, 6:30-7:00pm
    • You can opt to just have audio or video. Video allows for everyone to see the person who is sharing in the moment. This is a great format for allowing us to interact with one another.
    • Join Zoom Meeting, click the link and download to computer or phone.
