Dr. Hannon’s Retirement

Dear Christ Church,
Judy and I are deeply grateful for the many expressions of love and devotion we have received these past few weeks as our official retirement begins with my final sermon on Father’s Day, June 16.  The celebration of our Ministry yesterday, June 2, was just wonderful and more than I deserve.  Thank you for the many gifts, cards, and well wishes.
I am deeply grateful to the Pastor Parish Relations Committee members with Chair Mrs. Dawn Miyashita, for organizing the day and reception following the 11:00 service.  Simply put it was beautiful and deeply moving to be with my church family in this way.
A special gratitude is extended for the magnificent art work of the Sanctuary Stained Glass Window Replica given as a gift.  It is magnificent and will have an honored place in our home.  Thank you as well for the love offering.
I will be in the office working in Transition with our Senior Pastor Rev. Jeff Powers and the Clergy Team through June 16.  My final two sermons as Lead Pastor will be June 9 and June 16.
There are few words which can describe the emotion I feel for you and this Body of Christ known as Christ Church United Methodist.  Two words are “Thank you”, for your faithfulness to Jesus and His Church, for your support of me and for being the Church.  The other words are, “I Love you”;
So now, may the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you, and may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and grant you His peace; now and for ever more.  Amen.
