Edward C. Gibson, IV 
Director of Music and Fine Arts

Mr. Gibson is a native of Houston, Texas and graduate of Klein  Forest High School.  Prior to serving Christ Church United Methodist, Mr. Gibson was Music Director at First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie, Texas from 2007 to 2013.  He has a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Music from Texas State University, San Marcos, and a Master of Sacred Music from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas (under the direction of  Dr. C. Michael Hawn). 

Mr. Gibson has completed all three levels (260 hours) of Kodály Teacher Training, Southern Methodist University (2012), and all three levels (195 hours) of Orff Schulwerk, Southern Methodist University (2015). 

Edward holds memberships with the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, Organization of American Kodály Educators, Choristers Guild, the Texas Music Educators Association, The Hymn Society of The United States and Canada, and The National Flute Association.

Mr. Gibson served on the worship committee for the Texas Annual Conference (2015), was Member at Large for the Waxahachie Symphony Association and president for the Dallas Chapter Choristers Guild. 


Edward proudly sings with The Woodlands Chorale, goes to Body Pump, enjoys cooking, practices flute, and reads the Bible.
