PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can fill out the form below or contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Wisdom

Fear of the LORD is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. – Proverbs 9:10 NLT

Dear God, I’d like to think I’m an intelligent person, but I still face situations in life that I don’t have the wisdom to navigate. I’m learning that success in relationships, fulfillment of my life’s purpose, and spiritual maturity are often more dependent on wisdom than on intellect. Wisdom is what transforms head knowledge into discernment. God, please reveal your wisdom to me through your Word. Help me to remember that wisdom is less about knowing facts and more about knowing you. Amen.

Purpose

My life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God. – Acts 20:24 NLT

Almighty God, deep within my heart is the longing to matter. I want my life to count, to make a difference, to be worth something. Everywhere I look, I see others who are more successful, more gifted, more this, more that. But one of the great lessons of your Word is that the heroes of the faith—people like Moses, Gideon, Esther, and Peter—were ordinary people who learned that their significance came not from what they could accomplish with their abilities, but from what you could accomplish through them. You have given me specific abilities that you want me to use for a bigger purpose. It’s amazing that when I use my gifts to accomplish your work, my life becomes significant both now and for eternity. Amen.
