PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Busyness

Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. – Psalm 90:12 NLT

Dear God, I try to balance my schedule, but I fear I have overcommitted myself once again. I have fallen into the trap of busyness. Help me to overcome this tendency to be overly busy. It really is an empty way of life and it keeps me from being fully productive for you. Give me a clear sense of your calling and the wisdom to know which things are worth doing and which things I should pass up. Empower me to make the most of the time you’ve given me. Amen.

Grief

I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. – Lamentations 3:20-23 NLT

Dear Jesus, I am grieving a huge loss in my life. This process is not swift, nor is it a steady progression. Even after a good week, a good laugh, a theological insight, or a renewal of hope, I start to weep again. Lord Jesus, please remind me that healing is taking place and that I need to allow myself time to grieve. Some days are so difficult, and I wonder if I’ll ever fully heal. When the dark days come, remind me that you are by my side and that you care about my pain. When I am full of despair, please carry me. Lord, comfort me in my grief and heal my heart. I am trusting in you to see me through this difficult time. Amen.
