Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. – Psalm 27:3 NKJV
I remember the story of David, how he faced opposition from his brother, his king, and then a huge giant, all under the watchful eye of his enemies. But he was not afraid. Oh, that I would have such faith. Sometimes I get so scared my heart begins beating a mile a minute. And those are the times when I have taken my eyes off You. Keep my focus on Your Word. Plant this verse in my heart so that when dread comes upon me, I can say these words and kiss fear goodbye. Amen.

Building Up

Encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen and build up) one another. – 1 Thessalonians 5:11 AMP   OK, Lord, today not one negative thought is going to go through my head and come out of my mouth. This morning I will drench myself in Your Word and come out smiling. I want to spread to others the joy You plant in my heart. Give me the right words to say at the right moment to build up others. Give me words of praise, words of wisdom, and words of encouragement. Amen.   [from Power Prayers to Start Your Day by Donna Maltese]
