Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

Worldly Fears

“But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.” – Jeremiah 17:7 NIV   I am so blessed for even though I fear many things right now—the state of the economy, unemployment, terrorist attacks, shootings in the schools and on the streets, debilitating illnesses—I trust in You. I refuse to go along with the world, driven by despair, fear, and insecurity. No, I will not bow to outside pressures. I will live my life with the assurance that You are with me. I will put my confidence in You, for I trust You to look out for me, to keep me close to You, to always be with me, no matter what. Amen.   [from Power Prayers to Start Your Day by Donna Maltese]

Strength in Weakness

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:10 NKJV   It’s a paradox, but it is Your truth. When I am weak, I am strong because Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Because You are in my life, I can rest in You. With Your loving arms around me, I am buoyed in spirit, soul, and body. When I am with You there is peace and comfort. I can do all things through Your strength. Amen.   [from Power Prayers to Start Your Day by Donna Maltese]
