PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Friendship

Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT

Divine Father, I am alone right now, but I long for friendship. Please lead me into relationships that will be pleasing to you, that will be mutually beneficial, and that will cause me to grow in truth and love. Help me to listen to your voice as you guide me into the friendships you have for me. Thank you for the gift of true friends. Amen.

Jars of Clay

We have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. – 2 Corinthians 4:7 NRSV

That’s what this body is, dear Lord, a clay jar. You scooped up some mud in Eden and fashioned it into a human being and you breathed the breath of life. So what’s inside this jar? It’s your breath, your Spirit, that still blows through it, giving life and power that we could never muster ourselves. Lord, this clay jar of mine isn’t much and it’s a little cracked and chipped. I know one day I will have a new body in eternity with you, but in the meantime, could you patch up this jar a little? Thank you, Lord, for your healing touch. Amen.
