PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Forgiveness

Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. – Colossians 3:13

Dear Lord, I’m still trying to figure out forgiveness. It goes against everything I feel right now. I’ve been wronged but now I’m supposed to act as if everything’s fine? Lord, I realize that this is exactly what you’ve done for me—forgiven me. I know I’ve done plenty of wrong things and you have mercifully wiped the slate clean. But the issue I’m struggling with now is very personal. How can I forgive this person who has caused me so much grief? It will take some sort of miracle to do that; I’m pretty sure I can’t do that on my own. Lord, please help me do that. Amen.

The Abyss of Loneliness

Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. – Psalm 25:16

Dear Lord, The  comforts of human companionship feel far, far away. I don’t want to be alone, but I am. It’s only because I know you’re here that I’m not lost in this abyss of loneliness. I’m definitely going to need to keep talking to you; help me trust that you’re hearing me. And please, I pray, grant me a sense of your presence with me. Thank you for being here. Amen.
