PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

My Plans

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. – Proverbs 16:9 NIV

Help me, dear Lord! I have tried to figure things out, and I can’t. I have tried to plan out my own life, and I haven’t done so well. I have tried to answer all the questions, explain all the mysteries, and solve all the equations, but I have come to the end of myself. So I’m back to basics, calling for your help. I need you in my life, Lord, and I can’t make that happen on my own. But I believe you can. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Hope and Comfort

The length of our days is . . . but trouble and sorrow, for [the years] quickly pass, and we fly away . . . Teach us to number our days. . . that we may gain a heart of wisdom. – Psalm 90:10,12 NIV

Thank you for the wisdom and maturity that have come into my life through sorrow, O Lord. While I would not have asked for this pain to enter my life, I can see some of your good purposes for permitting it. Please grant me the ability to turn and help others who are struggling with similar grief. Help me extend empathy and support. Help me remember how I felt. And help me extend the patience and gentleness I, too, needed when I was engulfed in heartache. Let me be an extension of your tender mercies to the hurting ones around me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
