PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

In the News

Do not be afraid of sudden panic, or of the storm that strikes the wicked; for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. – Proverbs 3:25-26 NRSV

Heavenly Father, There is so much crazy stuff going on in the world! There are people saying, “It’s the end.” There is global warming, the threat of terrorism, the instability of the world’s economy, corruption and crime, and all sorts of other disturbing news. It seems as if evil in the world is increasing everywhere, and there are times I’m afraid of what’s going to happen next. But I know you keep your children in your care. Help me not be afraid. Help me seek you as the refuge not only for my physical well-being but also for the peace of mind that I need in a world that will never be capable of offering me any guarantees. You are my one and only guarantee. May faith win the day right now as I stand my ground, trusting in you against any danger. Amen.

Enlighten My Heart

May [God] give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him, so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you. – Ephesians 1:17-18 NRSV

Lord of light, shine your presence deep into my life. Enlighten my heart and show me the way you want me to go. As I weigh my options, I try to figure out where each path will lead, but it’s hard for me to see clearly. Give me your wisdom. Help me understand what’s most important to you. I want your Spirit to radiate through me and outward to others. Let me shine for you. Amen.
