PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can fill out the form below or contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Thoughts

I will pour out my thoughts to you; I will make my words known to you. – Proverbs 1:23 NRSV

Dear God, so often my thoughts feel like a runaway train or an out-of-control wildfire. Remind me that when I take the time to surrender them to You, my thoughts will no longer control me. Keep my mind focused on and grounded in You. Let my daily thought-life reflect Your peace and grace to all those I meet. Amen.

Temptation

Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. – James 1:12 NRSV

Heavenly Father, there are so many voices clamoring for my attention. The most subtle temptations sometimes appear as opportunities. Give me discernment and wisdom as I pray so that I will not act impulsively. Help me remember that all that glitters is not God. Amen.
