PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

On Eagles’ Wings

Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles. – Isaiah 40:30-31 NRSV

Eagles’ wings – That’s what I want, dear Lord. According to your promise, let me not just walk or run but soar. Give me the strength to do your bidding in amazing ways—not just doing kind deeds, but showing the depth of your compassion to others; not just saying nice words, but uttering your blessing upon those around me. Give me a spiritual power that radiates, so that everyone around me will know that you are with me. Amen

Let Go of Stress

It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives sleep to his beloved. – Psalm 127:2 NRSV

Heavenly Father, Please show me how to be at rest in body, mind, and spirit as I go through this long day. My stressed-out mode is an exercise in futility and robs me not only of efficiency but also of enjoyment. Help me to do only what I can reasonably do, leaving everything else for another day. Help me open my mind to your redirection, whether it means canceling, rescheduling, or even letting go of what you don’t have planned for me today. Grant me a restful soul in the daytime and a peaceful sleep at night, for your name’s sake. Amen.
