PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Enlighten My Heart

May [God] give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him, so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you. – Ephesians 1:17-18 NRSV

Lord of light, shine your presence deep into my life. Enlighten my heart and show me the way you want me to go. As I weigh my options, I try to figure out where each path will lead, but it’s hard for me to see clearly. Give me your wisdom. Help me understand what’s most important to you. I want your Spirit to radiate through me and outward to others. Let me shine for you. Amen.

Change

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us give thanks, by which we offer to God an acceptable worship with reverence and awe. – Hebrews 12:28 NRSV

Things change. In my years on earth, heavenly Father, I have learned that well. Just when you think you’re holding onto something solid, it moves, it evaporates. Relationships shatter. Jobs get downsized. Fortunes get frittered away. If I put my trust in anything, I am risking disappointment . . . except in you. Your kingdom cannot be shaken. You are the supreme king forever, and I thank you for the mighty role you’ve played in my life. Amen.
