PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

A Crisis

Be not far from me, for trouble is near; For there is none to help. – Psalm 22:11 NASB

It’s times like this that remind me, O Lord, that I’m not in control of my life and that I don’t have all the answers. I feel stripped of my competency and my ability to work things out. This helplessness brings me near to a state of panic, but then you remind me that you are here for me. I can turn to you, call out to you, and put my trust in you. How long has it been since I have looked to you for help? I can be so independent and so self-sufficient sometimes. Thank you for this reminder that you are near. Please come walk me through this crisis and then help me continue walking by your side. Amen.

God’s Strength

I have learned to be content with whatever I have. I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. . . . I can do all things through him who strengthens me. – Philippians 4:11-13

Dear Lord, I thank you for the times of plenty that you have provided in the past. Now I turn to you in a time of need. Please strengthen me to deal with the current crisis. I’m not sure that I have the resources—physically or emotionally—to get through this, but I know you do. I rely on your power and your love to see me through.
