PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Help!

Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication! Attend to me, and answer me; I am overcome by my trouble. I am distraught. – Psalm 55:1-2 RSV

O God! I’m so frustrated. I feel as if every time I turn around another thing breaks or goes wrong or has to be done, and it’s all up to me. My nerves and emotions are stretched to the limit. My mind won’t quiet down at night, so I don’t get the rest I need. Even my dreams are full of futile attempts to get something accomplished. Help me! Please! I can’t seem to quiet myself, and I just can’t take one more task or problem. I need to be in your presence where you can quiet me with your love. So here I am. Please look for me. I desperately need you right now. Amen.

Strong

Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9

Thank you, Lord, that you’re never missing in action—that you’re with me all the time, everywhere, without fail. Please keep this knowledge in the forefront of my mind today so I’ll be encouraged and emboldened to move through each challenge without feeling intimidated, fearful, or ashamed. May I always be kept safe because you are at work in my life. Amen.
