Though the Lord gave you adversity for food and suffering for drink, he will still be with you to teach you. . . .Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go.” – Isaiah 30:20-21 NLT

I don’t understand, Lord. Why? Why is this happening? Where are you? I don’t even know which way to turn or what to do next. Did I do something wrong? Are you angry with me? Have you turned away from me? Please, I don’t understand. I need you to take my hand and show me the way through this situation. I need to know you’re still with me. Give me strength, Lord. Amen.

Work in Progress

I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1:6 NRSV

Most merciful God, I realize that I come before you as a work in progress. Often I find myself in situations where I know the right thing to do, but I just don’t do it. That’s disappointing to me. I realize that I should have a better attitude about things and that I should trust you more and treat people better. But somehow you haven’t given up on me. You keep reminding me of your support. You keep whispering your guidance. Thank you, Lord!  Please keep working on me. Amen.
