PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Criticism

Whoever heeds life-giving correction will be at home among the wise. – Proverbs 15:31 NIV

Dear God, as much as possible, I try to guard my heart against the temptation to be a critical person—but there are moments, I admit, when I give in to negative and judgmental thinking. This is not who I want to be. Help me have an attitude of grace and redirect my observations of others to focus on what is good. Help me develop a more positive and merciful attitude. Amen.

Counsel

Listen to advice and accept correction, and in the end you will be wise. – Proverbs 19:20 NCV

Heavenly Father, some decisions I’m facing require much wisdom, discernment, and direction. I’m asking You to lead me to someone I can trust, someone I can talk to, someone who can offer me wise counsel. As I place my trust in You to help me understand and take the steps I need to take, I’m also trusting You to place someone with the gift of wisdom in my path to bring sound reasoning and counsel. Amen.
