Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” – Mark 11:25 NIV
It’s a two-way street, Lord—we forgive others and then You will forgive us. I know I’ve read that scripture a hundred times, but I’ve never understood it more fully than today. Give me the strength of Your forgiveness this morning, Lord. Help me to love and not hate the person who has hurt me. Thank You for releasing the poison of unforgiveness that has been building up within me. Amen.

Encouraging Others

Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another. – Hebrews 10:24-25 NASB
Lord, I will be meeting with others today. I want to be an encourager, stimulating others, drawing them closer to You. Plant a good word in my heart, one I can use to edify others. Point out a verse that someone else needs to hear. Give me the right moment, the right words. And if it’s a listening ear someone needs, give me the wisdom of silence. Lead me to do Your will this day. Amen.
