PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Disappointment

This hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us. – Romans 5:5 NCV

Dear Father, it hurts my heart that something I so believed in and hoped for didn’t come to pass. As I sit in this empty space of wondering why things didn’t work out, I’m asking You to fill me with renewed hope and assurance. You have a better plan. Give me peace, knowing Your plan will replace and far surpass my own notions of fulfillment. Amen.

Desires

Take away my desire to do evil or to join others in doing wrong. Don’t let me eat tasty food with those who do evil. – Psalm 141:4 NCV

Dear Lord, I read that You will give me the desires of my heart. I want those desires to be good and noble and trustworthy. As I pray for what I desire to come to pass, search my heart and let my motives be unselfish and not derived from ego. As the caretaker of my soul, guide my thoughts to desire what will bring Your best plan to my life. Amen.
