Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

Curb My Tongue

The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. – Proverbs 18:21 NLT
Lord, my tongue just went on and on—and now I am reaping the consequences. When will I ever learn when to stop talking? It seems I continually belabor a point until the other person has zoned out and becomes unresponsive. Help me to weigh my words carefully, to say only what You want me to say. Help me to curb my tongue! Amen.

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” – Mark 11:25 NIV
It’s a two-way street, Lord—we forgive others and then You will forgive us. I know I’ve read that scripture a hundred times, but I’ve never understood it more fully than today. Give me the strength of Your forgiveness this morning, Lord. Help me to love and not hate the person who has hurt me. Thank You for releasing the poison of unforgiveness that has been building up within me. Amen.
