Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

The LORD is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. – Psalm 145:9 NLT
Dear God, there are times when I’m not moved by the incredible pain around me, either because I am too self-focused or because my heart is unresponsive to you. Please don’t let my heart become hardened. Fill me with your compassion and love for those who are hurting or in need. Amen.

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. – Psalm 51:1- NLT
Dear God, how often I am disappointed with myself. I have such high hopes and good intentions, but inevitably I find myself weary and burned out with self-defeat, the burdens of everyday living, or the consequences of bad choices and sinful actions. The messiness of life can leave me feeling exhausted—not only physically but also in my very soul. If only I could start over…You make it clear that you will restore my heart that seeks a new start. I sincerely desire to turn to you and turn away from what has been bringing me down. Thank you that I am never beyond the reach of your forgiveness. My heart is truly ready to change. Please renew my life with the change that only your Spirit can bring. Amen.
