PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

The Holy Spirit

I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. – John 14:16-17 NLT

Dear God, thank you for your Holy Spirit, who is your presence living within me, helping me discover the wonders of your character and teaching me deep truths about who you are. It is your Spirit in me that helps me distinguish between right and wrong, good and bad, your way and the way of the world. Thank you, God, that you care enough about me to give me one-on-one instructions for how to live a life that pleases you. Come, Holy Spirit! Amen.

Reconciliation

If you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. – Matthew 5:23-24 NLT

Dear Jesus, reconciliation is the heart of what it means to follow you. You suffered the agony of the cross to redeem sinful human beings and reconcile us to God. My reconciliation with you is a picture of how I am to be reconciled with others. Your Word tells me that harmony in human relationships is important to you—so important that you command me to first come clean with the people in my life with whom I have conflict and then to worship. In other words, to live with an unresolved conflict actually hinders my relationship with you. Jesus, is there anyone in my life with whom you want me to pursue reconciliation? I pray that you would show me how to restore that relationship so I can be at peace with you. Amen.
