Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.” – Genesis 1:14-15 NIV
Some people light up a room. I know Christians who reflect Your radiance everywhere they go. Lord, I want to shine like that. Show me how to give off Your light. My faith needs to be polished to a sheen so that it sparkles and reflects Your face. Guide me into action, Lord. Don’t let me fall into a dark pit of apathy and stay there. The further I distance myself from Your light, the less likely I am to be reignited in my passion for Your will. I want my hope in You to give light to others. Help me shine, Lord! Amen.

God’s Child

From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother’s womb. I will ever praise you.- Psalm 71:6 NIV
Lord, You were there when I was formed in my mother’s womb. You knew my heart, my character, my purpose as I was brought into the world. Your hand has been upon my life since the beginning. Now I am established in the world and can appear strong and in control. But I confess that I am as vulnerable as the day I was born. I praise You for the countless times You have protected me, saved me without my knowledge. O Lord, Your loving hand continues to be with me every step of the way. I am so glad to be Your child. Amen.
