Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

My Calling

For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. – Romans 11:29 NIV
Dear God, what is my calling? Have you made me for a special purpose? I sense that you have something special in store for my life. Please bless me with the knowledge of what you want me to do and where you want me to go. Help me develop my abilities so that I can use them for you. Please don’t let me miss your calling because I wasn’t ready or I didn’t recognize it. Instead, when your calling comes, let it fill my thoughts and consume my energies so that I long to pursue it wholeheartedly. Amen.

Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. – Psalm 90:12 NLT
Dear God, I try to balance my schedule, but I fear I have overcommitted myself once again. I have fallen into the trap of busyness. Help me to overcome this tendency to be overly busy. It really is an empty way of life and it keeps me from being fully productive for you. Give me a clear sense of your calling and the wisdom to know which things are worth doing and which things I should pass up. Empower me to make the most of the time you’ve given me. Amen.
