Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

If you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. – Matthew 5:23-24 NLT
Dear Jesus, reconciliation is the heart of what it means to follow you. You suffered the agony of the cross to redeem sinful human beings and reconcile us to God. My reconciliation with you is a picture of how I am to be reconciled with others. Your Word tells me that harmony in human relationships is important to you—so important that you command me to first come clean with the people in my life with whom I have conflict and then to worship. In other words, to live with an unresolved conflict actually hinders my relationship with you. Jesus, is there anyone in my life with whom you want me to pursue reconciliation? I pray that you would show me how to restore that relationship so I can be at peace with you. Amen.

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:15 NLT
O Lord, I’m on empty. I’ve lost motivation, meaning, and purpose and my life no longer satisfies. How can my empty heart be filled? The world wants to deceive me into thinking that what it offers can satisfy me and refill my empty tank. But God, only you can fill the emptiness inside me and satisfy my deepest needs. Please refill my heart. Refill me with the pure love, truth, and goodness that only come from you. Fill my heart so full that evil has no room to enter. It is only through the presence of your Holy Spirit within me that meaning, purpose, and satisfaction will be restored. My heart is open…come, Holy Spirit! Amen.
