Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

My Words

If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. – James 1:26 NLT
Lord, I want to live my faith before my children and others. To do that, I need to be able to control my words, but sometimes my tongue seems to have a mind of its own. Help me rein in my mouth. Give me words that will lead others to You. Help me to live a life that is rich in Your love—and may that love affect my speech. Amen.

Spreading the Power of Forgiveness

[Jesus said,] “When you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” – Luke 122:32 NKJV
Lord, when Peter denied You three times, he wept bitterly. I know just how he felt. But You knew that’s what he was going to do, and You gave him words to keep him from wallowing in self-pity. You told Peter to strengthen his brethren after he turned back to You. So, I come before You this morning, asking You to forgive me and help me to forgive myself. Then, Lord, give me the opportunity to strengthen others who are dealing with unforgiveness. Help me encourage them to reconcile with those who they have hurt or who have hurt them. All for Your glory, Lord. Amen.
