Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

Weeping with Friends

“But first, please let me spend two months, wandering in the hill country with my friends. We will cry together.” – Judges 11:37 CEV
Lord, my friend is in distress. She has sunk down into the abyss. Give me the power of encouragement so that I can help bear her burden. She has been there for me so many times. Now I’d like to repay that kindness, that love that she has given to me. Ease my schedule so that I can take the time out of my day to give her words of comfort. Help me lift her to You. Amen.

The Power of Contentment

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. – 1 Timothy 6:6-8 KJV
Oh Lord, I feel as if I have it all. With You in my life, I need not worry about anything. For as You dress the flowers that neither toil nor spin and feed the birds that neither sow nor reap, You shall do even more for me. I do not worry about what I will eat, wear, drink, or earn today. I leave all my concerns in Your hands, knowing that You will provide. I can be content in Your power and provision. Amen.
