Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!

Forgiving Love

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. – 1 John 4:7 KJV
You are love and You came into the world to show us that love. When we love others, we are doing what You have called us to do. But right now, Lord, I need help swallowing the resentment I feel toward my friend. She has betrayed me, and I don’t know how I can love her again without Your help. This morning I pray for that forgiving love. I am saved, born of You, and I know You. Now I ask for Your love to fill me to overflowing. Help me to forgive. Heal my wounds, O Lord, my strength and song. Amen.

Love of Money

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience meekness. – 1 Timothy 6:10-11 KJV
Dear God, I come to You this morning with a heavy heart. I feel as if I have let my quest for financial security take my eyes off You. Help me to put aside my fear of never having enough and replace it with trust in You. Take away my seemingly insatiable appetite for more and more gain and replace it with the power of contentment. Free me from the snare of greed and lead me into greater faith in You.
