PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Path of Peace

Thus says the LORD: “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.” – Jeremiah 6:16 NKJV

Lord, I come before You, standing here, seeking Your face. I need direction. I feel so lost, so alone. But You are here with me, to lead and to guide me, to show me the way I should go. With You and You alone, I can find rest for my soul. Give me the peace of Jesus. Peace like a river Lord, give me peace. Amen.

Turn the Other Cheek

The LORD restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the LORD increased all that Job had twofold. – Job 42:10 NASB

Job prayed for his friends even though they had showed him their true colors. That’s a true friend, Lord. And when he did this, You blessed him, giving him twice as much as he had before. That’s the true power of forgiveness. You know the relationships I have with my friends. Sometimes it’s hard to overlook the hurtful things they say and do. Help me to be more like Job—to learn to turn the other cheek and actually serve friends who disappoint me. I ask for that kind of compassion and dedication, Lord. Amen.
