PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Weary

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 NLT

Dear God, thank you that you renew my strength when I grow weary. Thank you for refreshing my heart when I come to you in praise. Thank you for refreshing my soul when I come to you in prayer. Thank you for refreshing my mind when I come to you in meditation. Thank you for refreshing my body when I come to you in solitude. And thank you for refreshing my perspective on life when I come to you with thankfulness. Thank you that I can draw strength from you, the source of all strength. Amen.

Mentoring

You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. – 2 Timothy 2:2 NLT

Lord, should I be exploring a mentoring relationship with someone who is younger? Should I be sharing the wisdom and life experiences I have gleaned over the years to help a younger person learn? I am so grateful for the older people who shared stories from their lives, helping me grow into the kind of person I am now. Who might I help and encourage spiritually? I want to be a part of causing faith to continue from generation to generation and helping younger people learn how to live effectively for you. If there are those I can help, O Lord, please send them to me. Then please grant me the wisdom to teach them how to grow in their relationship with you. Amen.
