Living Water

Early the next morning. . .she went on her way and wandered in the desert. . . .Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. – Genesis 21:14, 19 NIV
Lord, thank You for being with me as I spend my quiet time in Your presence. When I am in the wilderness, You tell me not to fear. You tell me to rise in Your strength. And then You open my eyes and direct me to the living water. Lord, there is no one like You, no one who loves me as You do. I thirst for Your presence and am rewarded with Your peace. Be Thou my eternal fount of blessing. Amen.

Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. – Psalm 27:3 NKJV
I remember the story of David, how he faced opposition from his brother, his king, and then a huge giant, all under the watchful eye of his enemies. But he was not afraid. Oh, that I would have such faith. Sometimes I get so scared my heart begins beating a mile a minute. And those are the times when I have taken my eyes off You. Keep my focus on Your Word. Plant this verse in my heart so that when dread comes upon me, I can say these words and kiss fear goodbye. Amen.
