PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can fill out the form below or contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

The Race

And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. – Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV

Almighty Father, It’s been said that life is a marathon, not a sprint, and your Word tells us to run the race that is before us with endurance. But I feel right now as if I’m at the point in the marathon where I’ve “hit the wall” and can’t go on. I’m out of strength and energy. I’m really worn out and overwhelmed with exhaustion. How grateful I am that I can come to you today! You are all powerful; your strength is inexhaustible. In you I know I can find what I need to endure, and not only to endure but also to run with joy. Thank you! Amen.

In the News

Do not be afraid of sudden panic, or of the storm that strikes the wicked; for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. – Proverbs 3:25-26 NRSV

Heavenly Father, There is so much crazy stuff going on in the world! There are people saying, “It’s the end.” There is global warming, the threat of terrorism, the instability of the world’s economy, corruption and crime, and all sorts of other disturbing news. It seems as if evil in the world is increasing everywhere, and there are times I’m afraid of what’s going to happen next. But I know you keep your children in your care. Help me not be afraid. Help me seek you as the refuge not only for my physical well-being but also for the peace of mind that I need in a world that will never be capable of offering me any guarantees. You are my one and only guarantee. May faith win the day right now as I stand my ground, trusting in you against any danger. Amen.
