PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

Jars of Clay

We have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. – 2 Corinthians 4:7 NRSV

That’s what this body is, dear Lord, a clay jar. You scooped up some mud in Eden and fashioned it into a human being and you breathed the breath of life. So what’s inside this jar? It’s your breath, your Spirit, that still blows through it, giving life and power that we could never muster ourselves. Lord, this clay jar of mine isn’t much and it’s a little cracked and chipped. I know one day I will have a new body in eternity with you, but in the meantime, could you patch up this jar a little? Thank you, Lord, for your healing touch. Amen.

The Race

And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. – Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV

Almighty Father, It’s been said that life is a marathon, not a sprint, and your Word tells us to run the race that is before us with endurance. But I feel right now as if I’m at the point in the marathon where I’ve “hit the wall” and can’t go on. I’m out of strength and energy. I’m really worn out and overwhelmed with exhaustion. How grateful I am that I can come to you today! You are all powerful; your strength is inexhaustible. In you I know I can find what I need to endure, and not only to endure but also to run with joy. Thank you! Amen.
