PRAYER

Prayer opens our hearts to the power of God’s love. Prayer is how we become channels of God’s love for the world. Prayer is a gift from God – He wants to hear from us!
Pray for Others – If you would like to be part of Christ Church’s prayer chain and receive emails with prayer requests from our congregation, please contact Karen Smith.

The Prayer Tree is located in The Commons and a part of the Prayer Ministry. Complete a prayer “leaf” and it will be prayed over by the church.

To submit a prayer request, you may send an email message to prayer@cc-um.org. If you would prefer a more private prayer request, you can fill out the form below or contact Dr. Marc Donaldson.

Holding a Grudge

You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against any of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. – Leviticus 19:18 NRSV

Prince of Peace, my heart is clenched tight as I come before you. I admit that I’m holding a grudge. This is born of deep hurt and overwhelming pain caused by an uncaring person. Every time I think of the injury I’ve suffered, my heart glazes over again, hardening a little more. “Love your neighbor as yourself.” That sounded so easy when I learned it as a child, but now it seems impossible. My heart is a rock, weighing heavier each day. Please soften it, Lord. Amen.

The Loss of a Friend

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. – Lamentations 3:25-26 NIV

Dear Lord, I wasn’t ready to lose this friend! The truth is, I never would have been ready, not in a hundred lifetimes. Why this friend? Why now? There’s such a great void where my friend was standing. Please come and bring your comfort to me. How my heart aches! I look to the consolation of that day when my friend and I will be reunited as ones who have been saved by your grace. So stay near to me, dear Savior, during the rest of my journey in this world. In your most holy name, I pray. Amen
