Vivian Kinnear is the Pastor of Strategic Development to Christ Church.  She is a retired United Methodist deacon, returning to us from our sister UMC church, Covenant, where she served for seven years assisting with the new church plant.

Vivian graduated with a BBA in Accounting from Lamar University in 1977, an MBA in management from the University of Texas Permian Basin in 1990, received her certification in Christian Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2002 and completed her Deacon studies from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in 2004.

Prior to her ordination in 2006, Vivian’s first career in the oil and gas industry followed her husband’s career path from Texas to Pennsylvania, California and back to Texas.  As native Texans they were thrilled in 1992 to finally settle in The Woodlands.  Bob, a Christ Church member since 2004, is also retired.  His second career has been to serve on local community boards and teach World War II history.

The couple’s two daughters have blessed them with four grandsons.  The eldest, Noah, recently married and is serving in the US Army in South Korea.  The next grandson, Carter, is starting technical college, working toward FAA certification in aviation mechanics. Their Au-some grandson, Parker, is a zipline enthusiast and adventurer.  Their youngest grandson, Lukas has his eye on a career in professional sports one day.

Vivian and Bob are excited to be reunited in worship and service once again at Christ Church.
